Well we ARE still alive and WELL! Tuesday (3) ended up getting into motel later than we planned but we are in a nice new Holiday Inn Express in Hinton AB. Wow! Where do I (Ila) begin?! Guess I will preface by saying we are enjoying our devotions and prayer times both morning and evening. Even though we were tired last night, we still had devotion, though they were somewhat shortened. We are reading through a 40-day book entitled "Rendevous" by Dr Frank Moore, MNU professor and some from "He Speaks Softly" by Bob Benson as well as each of us have our personal daily devotional book. OK! I just thought you on the home end need to know we are not just out here wandering w/o God! He IS with us and we don't want it any other way.
We didn't leave Banff till mid to late AM. Ate a warm breakfast and knew next meal wouldn't be till later though we didn't anticipate it being after 9PM! Not smart eating but we thought we would stay in Jasper and that just didn't happen. We headed up CA Hwy #1 and first stop for the day was Lake Louise. Then CAHwy#93 to the Columbia Icefields where a tour took us out onto the glacier. Linda realized "one" of her dreams in getting to stand on the actual glacier. Phyllis & I wandered a little farther and found the glacial water but didn't have a container so didn't drink any. Leaving there we headed to Jasper for the night stay but just didn't find any accomodations that suited our needs so drove on to Hinton. We saw SO much beautiful scenery. We also managed to find some wildlife. Just in case though, I took a picture of a HUGE raven and a baby but we found mountain goats, a bear, some elk and deer. One of us (no names but I bet the family will figure it out) got out of the van to get a good picture of the bear. It was just nonchalontly eating and didn't seem to be bothered by the "rush" of people wanting a glimpse. We are washing clothes this morning before moving on. Are heading "north" today to Grand Cache.

James can comment on your Rendezvous readings. They did it at NPH last spring. They also published and printed it. I'll have to read it if you say it's good.
I am guessing it was my mother that jumped out of the van for the picture. Be glad she didn't want to take it home with her. She does have a history of adopting strange animals. By the way, I was adopted!
Glad to see everything is o.k.
Why do I have a mental picture of Phyllis running away from a wild bear while holding a camera and a GPS?
OK, I just have to comment on the comments. I'm pretty sure they guessed right on the person with the bear. What's sad is that everybody knows you SO well. I gotta tell you that I laughed at the comments so hard that I had tears running. By the way, beautiful pictures!!!!! Yes, even the people in them. Have a safe day.
